InStardew Valley, fishing is a means to completing quests, cooking meals, finishing Community Center bundles, and making some extra money. There are many fish to be caught, with over 60 different kinds of fish available. One of those fish is the Walleye.

All fish are different. Some can only be found during certain seasons. Some prefer coming out in the morning, while others enjoy the evening. Some like the rain, and some like the sun. Some fish live in rivers and lakes, while others live in the ocean and ponds. So, where does the Walleye pop up?

How To Find The Walleye In Stardew Valley

Wait For The Rain To Fall

The Walleye can be found in a few different places throughoutStardew Valley. Before going on the hunt, you’ll need to be aware of the conditions favored by this fish. First, the Walleye is afall-specific fish, though it’s possible to catch it when using aRain Totem during winter. The Walleye can also be caught at any time using Magic Bait, which can now be made using the Bait Maker, acool new accessory from patch 1.6. Second, the Walleye can only be caught between the hours of 12 p.m. and 2 a.m.,and only when it’s raining.

Even with these conditions, it is possible to find the Walleye elsewhere. You can find a Walleyerandomly inside garbage cansaround Pelican Town during both fall and winter. TheTraveling Cartsometimes sells Walleyes, too. The final way to get the Walleye, besides through fishing, is by befriending a pet cat to max friendship. The cat then has a chance to gift the Walleye.

The Traveling Cart appears in Cindersap Forest on Fridays and Sundays until 8 p.m. and sells many items. The Walleye may be sold here, with a price ranging from 315g to 1,000g.

Walleye Fishing Locations

Unlikecatching legendary fish, the Walleye isn’ttoodifficult to come by. The Walleye can be found in several bodies of water throughoutStardew Valley, including rivers, lakes, and ponds.If you choose the Riverland or Forest Farm, you can catch the Walleye in your farm’s pond. Otherwise, you’ll have to venture away from your farm to catch one. While some might find it a chore to find the Walleye, there is afishing mod that will make it somewhat easier.

Thefirst andbest location to find the Walleye is Cindersap Forest. You’ll have the most luck fishing for the Walleye in this pond, with a 32% chance. To reach Cindersap Forest, head south from your farm. To the west is where you’ll find the pond. If you head further south, you’ll find the Cindersap Forest river, which also has Walleye.

The next location isPelican Town. Head east from the farm or Cindersap Forest, and you’ll reach Pelican Town. Go east or south to find the river. The river runs long, so there will be plenty of choices for a good fishing spot.

Last is theMountain Lake. To reach the Mountain inStardew Valley, head north from the farm and then east. You can also travel north through Pelican Town. Once at the Mountain,head east to find the lake.

Walleye have many uses inStardew Valley. Catching them will help complete theNight Fishing Bundle and the Quality Fish Bundle in the Community Center. They can also be used in recipes like the Maki Roll and Sashimi and to complete delivery quests posted on the bulletin board outside of Pierre’s General Store.
