Monster Hunter Wilds Can Borrow This Strategy From The Sims To Make A Switch 2 Port

Monster Hunter Wilds won’t come to the Switch, but thanks to The Sims, it can get to its successor console in a really interesting and new way.

But perhaps more importantly, the latest trailer also revealsthe return of Nerscylla and Gore Magala, two of the most beloved monsters from earlier entries in the series. Both monsters look better than ever, and are seen here in full action, Nerscylla swinging every which way with its webs, while Gore Magala launches a dastardly ambush in a post-title-drop stinger.

Nerscylla and Gore Magala Are Confirmed For MH Wilds

What To Expect From These Returning Favorites

So with this latest trailer, Nerscylla and Gore Magala are officially coming toMonster Hunter Wilds, and many fans couldn’t be happier. Both monsters are beloved, both for their designs and for their unique battle mechanics. Coincidentally, they both originate from the same game:Monster Hunter 4for the Nintendo 3DS, later released in the West asMonster Hunter 4 Ultimate.

Nerscylla closely resembles a giant spider, but with four legs instead of eight. Each leg ends in a powerful, hooked claw, which are some of its main means of attack against unsuspecting hunters. It can also inflict poison with its bite, or sleep with its venomous sting. The Nerscylla also shoots webs, which it can use both to trap the player and to swing acrobatically around the arena. Curiously, it appears to be shrouded in a kind of cloth, which is actually a Gypceros hide (and yes, Gypceros has been confirmed forWildstoo).

Nerscylla is usually weak to fire and thunder, so use weapons that deal damage of these elemental types to defeat it quickly.

Gore Magala, meanwhile, is a younger Elder Dragon, featuring many characteristics of other monsters of that type. It lacks eyes, instead using its facial feelers and its scales to sense what’s around it. Gore Magala can fire its scales out in the surrounding area, using them to sense movement. When it’s scattered all its scales, it enters into a frenzy, becoming much stronger and more aggressive.Gore Magala can also inflict that frenzy on hunters, nullifying their health regeneration and increasing the damage they take from frenzied monsters.

There’s never been anything quite like Nerscylla or Gore Magalaanywhere else in theMonster Hunterseries. While Gore Magala came back in theMonster Hunter RiseDLCSunbreak, Nerscylla has been absent from the main series sinceGenerations Ultimate- although both of them have appeared in spinoffs. For these reasons, many fans are thrilled at their reappearance, which bodes well forWilds.

Bringing Back Fan-Favorite Monsters Is A Great Sign For Wilds

A Win-Win For Monster Hunter

Ultimately,it’s great to see these two classic monsters coming back. Fans love Nerscylla and Gore Magala, and for good reason, but they’ve been absent in most recent entries. It’ll be interesting to see how they’ve changed in the intervening years, and how the new mechanics introduced byMonster Hunter Risewill develop their movesets and change their gameplay.

Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Is Now Live, Draws Over 250K Concurrent Players

Monster Hunter Wilds has already hit a major player milestone, soaring to over 250,000 players in the first 24 hours of its second open beta.

In addition, the inclusion of these fan-favorite monsters is likely to increase sales. Of course, these two monsters won’t sell total newcomers on the series as a whole, but if an established fan is waiting for a good sign to buy, what could be better than the return of Nerscylla and Gore Magala? It’s a win-win for players and developers both: players get to see their favorite monsters once again, and Capcom gets to sell more copies.
